Ampleforth Abbey Visitor Centre
The Visitor Centre is located in the east end of Alban Roe House and is fully accessible. It is run by Fr. Kentigern and a wonderful team of volunteers who have a vast amount of knowledge about Ampleforth.
The Centre comprises of three rooms. The first room tells the day to day life of the Community and the vows they take. Room two tells of the history of Ampleforth Abbey and College and room three informs of activities such as local parishes, the orchard and cider production and a video compiled by the Community.
Children can enjoy completing the Mouse Hunt and arranging the clues to obtain the password to the Abbey.
With over 40,000 visitors since we opened in 2011, the visitor centre provides an interesting insight into Ampleforth Abbey.
In order to maximise your group's time we can organise a specific time slot.
Monday - Saturday: 10:00 - 16:00
Sunday: 11:00 - 16:00
